About Matthieu
Having grown up among the vineyards of Saint-Émilion and spent his holidays on Cap Ferret, Matthieu has a long-standing connection to several of the areas in which he now works. His activity spans Bordeaux, the countryside and the Arcachon Bay, as well as vineyard properties on the Right Bank.
His background brings together history, heritage, wine and real estate.
Career
Holding a Master’s degree in History and Art History, Matthieu served as Director of the UNESCO-listed Jurisdiction of Saint-Émilion, working with wine professionals, elected representatives and public institutions.
He later spent several years in London working in the wine industry before returning to Bordeaux in 2019 and moving into real estate. His work at Maxwell-Baynes was notably recognised with a Best Client Service award in 2021.
Beyond work
Matthieu retains a deep interest in history, art, culture and wine. His connection to Saint-Émilion and Cap Ferret also feeds his appreciation for the French art of living and for places where heritage, landscape and human relationships come together.
