2. “Jardins secrets : Un regard contemporain”
The title, “Jardins secrets : Un regard contemporain”, can be understood in English as “Secret Gardens: A Contemporary View”. This event will showcase the works of five international artists, each offering a unique perspective on the theme of the garden. By exploring it as a living archive and enigmatic space, the exhibition delves into the mysterious and historical aspects associated with this natural environment. The presented works not only capture the beauty and diversity of gardens but also invite reflection on their symbolic role and evolution over time. The artists use various mediums to reveal the layers of meaning and hidden narratives that gardens carry, transforming this ordinary space into a place of contemplation and discovery.
3. Artists
- Rocio Navarro (Mexico): A visual artist specializing in colorful portraits of indigenous women, particularly the Rarámuri, while exploring themes of Latin American identity.
- Stephen Price (Italy and Ghana): A multidisciplinary artist who combines personal narratives and historical figures in his photographic and pictorial works, creating stoic silhouettes imbued with nostalgia and serenity.
- Flore Sigrist (France and Switzerland): A self-taught painter influenced by lyrical abstraction, with vibrant and colorful works that express intense emotional depth.
- Kyung Soon Park (United States and South Korea): Inspired by Henri Rousseau’s naïve style, Kyung Soon Park creates fantastical worlds where nature and imagination intersect, exploring her memories through lush forests.
- Tuan Vu (Vietnam and Canada): A Montreal-based painter whose often abstract works explore the relationship between nature and human perception, using rich colors and textures.
4. Exhibition Venue
Although these artists do not belong to a common collective, their works converge around the central theme, offering a rich and diverse vision of this symbolic space. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to explore the many facets of the reinvented garden through the works of these renowned artists at 28 Cours du Chapeau Rouge, Bordeaux, within the Maxwell-Baynes – Christie’s International Real Estate office.
