As you are no doubt aware we recently sold our property in the GERS through Maxwell Baynes. It was a long process with the buyers wanting up to 15 months to complete the transaction but ultimately it only took 11 months. Throughout the selling process, we were lucky to have Martin Sheach as our assigned estate agent. Martin brought to the table a great deal of professionalism, advice and always in a friendly and engaging manner. Martin travelled back and forth to our house on numerous occasions showing around potential buyers and I think we counted at least 30 people in total over that period. It was a tough sale at times but Martin kept calm, collected and persistent in assisting us in navigating the French property sale process (and a slow Notaires) to ensure there were no pitfalls. The sale was completed on the 21st October. Martin gave valuable guidance to us on how we could successfully sell our furniture and other chatels (that the buyers did not want) which we were extremely grateful to him. That saved us a lot of time and money in removal costs. He supported and communicated with us right to the finalisation of the sale including offering up money transfer services through Magna Financial (which was excellent) down to taking the final meter readings etc. Both Jayne and I consider Martin not just our Estate Agent but now a friend. We do hope to return to Bordeaux next spring and will take the opportunity to buy him lunch or dinner for his strong performance in the sale. All the best

We recently purchased a home in the Gers (France) with the help of Martin Sheach.  I wanted to let your company know how much we enjoyed working with him. We would have never bought the home without his help. We purchased it site unseen due to COVID. Somehow with Martin’s patience, humor and tireless assistance - the sale finally happened in September. He immediately made my fiancé and I feel confident and calmed our nerves during the lengthy loan process. He took great care in making sure we had every last detail about the house. He was highly attentive as if we were his only clients despite how busy he was. He returned our calls, emails, researched solutions and made purchasing a house in a foreign country as seamless as possible. He is highly personable with a great engaging personality. We loved Martin - as much as the house. Not everyone is accustom to people purchasing a house site unseen. I think the owners were more than skeptical the entire process. However Martin just rolled with it perfectly. Without him this absolutely would never have happened. While we all grew frustrated due to the to elongated process to get the loan as a foreigner - Martin tried his best to keep us all comfortable. When we have the chance to purchase other properties - Martin will be our first call. He is truly a treasure. We feel found a beautiful place to call home and a lifelong friend.
