A brand that attracts the best of the best
Kay Martinesz
With a rich and varied background, Kay brings to real estate a rare blend of international experience, cultural sensitivity, and personal insight. She began her career in health and safety within the hotel industry, followed by several years in the toy sector with Hasbro. Her life journey has since led her through Sri Lanka, Burma, Thailand, Paris, and Philadelphia, before settling with her family in the picturesque Dordogne.
Since 2011, Kay and her husband have lovingly restored their château in Bourdeilles, a stunning 15th to 17th-century residence listed as a Grade 2 Historical Monument. Today, it offers four-star luxury accommodation in a setting that reflects the elegance and heritage of the Périgord. Their experience of purchasing, renovating, and managing several properties has given Kay a unique understanding of the intricacies of real estate and lifestyle in France.
A founding member of Châteaux en Fête, Kay regularly conducts guided visits of her property and plays an active role in local tourism as part of the Périgord Vert Tourism Commission. She is also a committed participant in the cultural life of the region.
Kay’s diverse professional journey includes roles as a Special Constable in the UK, Environmental Health Officer for the British Government, team photographer for Trélissac FC, and English tutor for Japanese and Thai families. She is also well known locally as a talented cook of Asian cuisine.
Fluent in English and French, and conversant in Thai and Sinhala, Kay is known for her warmth, charisma, and reliability. She has a natural ability to be present just when needed and is deeply committed to supporting and guiding her clients through each step of their journey in France.
